Colby Cox is the Founder and President of Convergence Investments and is an accomplished entrepreneur with a devout passion for starting and growing companies. Operating under the brand Convergence Communities, the company specializes in developing mixed-use, master-planned communities around the U.S. Spending the majority of his career in real estate investment, Cox has developed more than $800 million worth of real estate assets since the formation of Convergence Investments in 2002. He led the growth of multiple ventures and investment funds over the past 15 years, including the Convergence Opportunity Fund platform. As President of Convergence Investments, he oversees the entirety of the firm’s real estate and private equity holdings, which currently total more than $150 million in assets under management.

Cox is also the Founder and CEO of Pure Madness Brewery Group in Jackson Hole, WY. Pure Madness owns Roadhouse Brewing Co. and Melvin Brewing Co., which includes the operation of three restaurants and two tap rooms. Roadhouse and Melvin distribute in 25 states, and Pure Madness Brewery Group is currently ranked the 8th largest craft brewery in the Rocky Mountain region. Cox’s involvement in the craft beer industry began in the late 90s when he worked on the bottling line for his friend and the founder of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. Years later, he became an avid and accomplished homebrewer, winning multiple awards in regional and national competitions. He has described his passion for craft beer as “one of the few industries where creative expression, American entrepreneurship, and a healthy buzz meet.”

Cox serves on the board of several nationally affiliated non-profits and has appeared on boards and advisory panels for the US Green Building Council and multiple privately held companies. Cox currently serves as one of 21 Members of the Brewer’s Association Board of Directors, overseeing the strategic interests of more than 6,000 Craft Breweries nationwide. He also served on the Resource Council and the Finance Committee for the Grand Teton NationalPark Foundation. Cox is a former member of the Kellogg Venture Community—a nonprofit entity that seeks to bridge the gap between innovation and capital for start-up companies. Cox is committed to promoting entrepreneurial leadership as a business owner and remains actively involved in several entrepreneurial learning and leadership organizations. Cox is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization, a group of approximately 20,000 members in more than 120 countries that strive for better leaders through education and idea exchange. He is the former Chairman of the Big Sky YPO Chapter and has served as Education Chair and Forum Chair in previous roles. Cox is also a member of the Jackson Hole YPO Chapter.
Cox received a B.S. in Real Estate Finance and Construction Management from the University of Denver, where he was a 4-year starter and captain of their Division 1 lacrosse team. In 2009, he earned an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
