About DU Lacrosse Corp.

Why

Denver is the Lacrosse Capital of the West, and the University of Denver Men’s Lacrosse program is its representation with nearly 60 years of history.

Vision

As a mid-major university, DU Lacrosse Corp will support the University of Denver Men’s Lacrosse program to maintain its status as the pre-eminent Division 1 Men’s Lacrosse program west of the Mississippi River, as measured by continued regular season, conference tournament, and NCAA tournament wins.

How

DU Lacrosse Corp will enhance the program’s ability to recruit, retain and provide resources to student-athletes.

What

The organization provides community-based NIL opportunities to lacrosse student-athletes. The organization and its contributors are primarily DU Lacrosse alumni, DU Lacrosse fans, and parties interested in the westward expansion of lacrosse opportunities. DU Lacrosse Corp. is a proud founding member of the Crimson & Gold Collective which facilitates NIL contracts for DU student-athletes and provides educational resources to student-athletes regarding NIL.

History

The Men’s Lacrosse program began in 1966 and alternated between the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Association (RMLA) and the US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates (USLIA) until 1991, when it transitioned into the NCAA Division II as a member of the RMILL. DU fully transitioned to NCAA Division I in 1999.

Denver is the only program west of the Mississippi to win the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Lacrosse championship. With an additional 6 Final Four appearances, 8 Quarterfinal appearances, and 13 tournament appearances, DU has established itself as the preeminent Division 1 Men’s Lacrosse program in the United States.
